The Prayer Shawl Ministry is a group of people who knit and/or crochet “Prayer Shawls”. These prayer shawls are given to those in need such as someone having surgery, new mothers, or a new Baptism. They have also been given to those who have medical issues
or to comfort someone who has suffered a loss of a loved one. Most are hand delivered with a special card and blessing but if the recipient is too far away, the prayer shawls (cards & blessing included!) are mailed. Prayer shawls have been sent to all parts of
the United States as well as overseas to Russia, Germany, Korea and more!
Meeting in the basement of the church every Tuesday at 6:00 pm, they knit or crochet and chat for about an hour.
New people are always welcome! Even though there are meetings every week, there is no requirement to be there every week. If your schedule allows some spare time, come by when you can. Prior knowledge of knitting/crocheting is not required. They will teach anyone with a desire to learn.
If you do have prior knowledge and would like to share patterns, please feel free to bring them!
